Our Community Listens strives to equip you with the tools needed to deepen your relationships with others. We’ve expanded our offerings beyond our core, three-day Communication Skills Training course to include a variety of easily-accessible, interactive learning opportunities to deepen your communications skills learnings. Choose the options that best suit your needs. Note: If a session with the same title occurs on multiple dates, you need only sign up for ONE session that suits your schedule. The content will be the same for each date.

  • The Power of Choice Aug 15, 2020 9:00am CST - 10:30am CST Through prework and in-class discussion, we will begin to identify our core values and realize how they shape behavior. When we recognize that behavior is an expression of our values and needs, we create the foundation for true acceptance of our own and other’s behavior. When there is a conflict, we have three choices to consider as we determine our next move. We will acknowledge the power of choice as we navigate uncomfortable situations. These choices allow us to design our best life.

  • How to be a Better Listener Aug 20, 2020 10:30am CST - 11:30am CST Most of us think we are good listeners, but often, we fall short. We listen to reply or offer advice, never realizing the skills it takes to be a great listener. Attendees will discover the impact nonverbal communication has on their message. They will learn the 5 reflective listening skills along with one key ingredient. Exploring the art of silence and how to use it will enable others to go deeper in their thought process. Attendees will understand how listening is a precious gift we offer another. When they leave the webinar, they will know how to immediately change their default modes and develop deeper personal and professional relationships.
