Day Job/Career: My work world and my daily life blend beautifully together as my life passion and my professional work are focused on how we can find more understanding of ourselves and each other. I work supporting organizations with professional development trainings and provide individual coaching based on strengths.
How did you become involved with OCL? A friend in my local community participated in the Communication Skills Training and said it had such a positive impact on his life and relationships. When I saw that the course was focused on topics I deeply believe in, I was all in. The course was carefully crafted and skillfully facilitated so when the opportunity came up to be a part of the team as a facilitator, it was an easy full yes!
How do you most often find yourself using what you learned in CST? I use the tools and skills daily. It is all about being present with myself so I can be present with others. Words matter and I want to craft them in a way that creates connection and understanding of others. It is through tools such as DISC, connecting to my feelings, seeing when I am in judgment and breathing that I can access the words that create connection.
Three things that make me smile: There is always something that brings a smile…if I slow down and look around me! My kids bring me great delight and smiles as they navigate adulthood, so does feeling the sun and sharing meals with my friends.
My idea of a great day: I love being outside and it is even better in the company of others!
