How did you become involved with Our Community Listens?
I was invited by my daughter-in-love to take the class. I was newly retired and seeking my place in this new role. The content was so impressive! It immediately had any impact on my relationships with my children and I kept finding its relevance in an increasingly impersonal world. It was such a profound gift to me that I wanted to share it with others in the hop they would be blessed with improved and restored relationships.
What is your hope for Our Community Listens?
That through inspiring people to live the principles we teach, we would truly change the world into a more caring, compassionate place. It is my hope that after taking the class the participants will impact at least two people who will in turn impact at least two more, etc., resulting in a widespread, ripple effect. Also, that as individuals and organizations through connection, respect and affirmation, we can learn to appreciate differences and utilize gifts that each of us bring to the table.
What are three things that make you smile?
- Intense physical exertion including biking, hiking mountain trails, and cutting wood
- Including a glass of fine wine with both 1 and 2!
