I am a Rail Logistics Specialist at Dow Chemical.
How did you become involved with Our Community Listens?
After attending as a participant in 2017, I left feeling very inspired and refreshed by the fact that a training course like this existed. My experience as a participant truly fueled a passion of mine that had been dormant for some time. I reached out to one of the professors I had and began gathering information regarding the professorship process. Now that I find myself on the brink of (hopefully) inspiring change in others, I could not be more excited for the future!
What is your hope for Our Community Listens?
In the last year, a new passion has been ignited within me – to bring compassion and connectivity to corporate leadership. My hope for Our Community Listens is to continue growing across industries, imparting insight around effective relationships in the workplace - one corporation after another.
How do you most often find yourself using what you learned in CST?
When listening to others’ issues/concerns, I internally clear my mind, and choose to just LISTEN – without dismissing the other person’s feelings and/or offering advice.
