Day job/career: For 30+ years, I've been building transformational, community-based programs, with national and international impact.
How did you become involved with OCL? Bob and Cynthia Chapman invited me to take CST in St. Louis, and then to offer classes at Christ Episcopal Church in Aspen, where they are members, and my husband is the Rector. Since 2012, it has been a privilege to share the gift of OCL with 1400+ inspirational leaders in our Valley.
What is your hope for OCL? OCL empowers individuals to connect in meaningful ways; collectively we can strengthen our families and communities, until every interaction is a reminder of the potential within and around us. We already see evidence of world-caring, based on our OCL alumni connections from Colorado to Michigan to Wisconsin to the Carolinas, and even in London! It is thrilling to have family and team members in different locations committed to improving their relationships by practicing these core CST skills.
How do you most often find yourself using what you learned in CST? After six years of intentionally practicing CST skills in the community, I am still investing significant energy daily to strengthen my relationships with my immediate family! They deserve more than my left-overs; my family interactions (particularly at the end of long days) give me many reminders that I have yet to be unconsciously skilled!
Three things that make you smile. Watching my son Joel (21) play collegiate soccer surrounded by the community he has created; watching my daughter Crichelle (23) use her intellect and leadership skills to transform the world; and spending time with my husband Jonathan reflecting on all the adventures we’ve shared in 25+ years of marriage and ministry
Your idea of a great day. Quiet reflections in the morning with a hot cup of coffee, skiing or hiking with my husband, followed by a yummy lunch, an inspirational movie in the afternoon, culminating with a family dinner with our (adult!) children. I love the film About Time; watching TeamBrice family videos together is the closest thing to time travel that exists, and would be a lovely way to end this great day!
