How did you become involved in OCL? I found the job of logistics coordinator online and thought it sounded like the perfect fit for me after running corporate training sessions for over 15 years. I was lucky enough to take the class early on and will be forever changed.
How do you most often find yourself using what you learned in the CST? Reflective listening is something I try and incorporate in my life on a daily basis. It is always important for someone to feel as if they are being heard and to just stop give them the gift of truly listening.
Three things that make you smile? Relaxing on the beach with a great book. Spending time out on the boat watching dolphins. Spending time with friends and family over a great meal.
Your favorite book and why? Still Alice by Lisa Genova. Lisa Genova is a favorite author that writes about neurological diseases and how they affect families. She has even given a TED talk or two! After losing a parent to Alzheimer’s; I found her book inspiring and it helped provide a glimpse into the mind of the person who has the disease while also grappling with the emotions of the family and caregivers. I find myself recommending it to everyone!
